Swastika Mukherjee is an Indian Actress who primarily appears in Bengali movies. She has also appeared in Bollywood movies since 2008. She is one of the talented and beautiful actresses of the Tollywood Industry.
She made her debut in a Bengali movie, “Hemanter Pakhi” in 2001. Though she started her acting career from a Bengali Serial, “Devdasi”. She worked in “Mastan” in 2004, which was her 1st film where she acted in a lead role. Swastika played a character in “Dil Bechara”, a Bollywood film remake of “Fault in Our Stars”.
Swastika Mukherjee was born on 13th December 1980 in Kolkata, West Bengal. She belongs to a Bengali Hindu family. She had spent her childhood with her father Santu Mukherjee, Mother Gopa Mukherjee and her younger sister Ajopa.
She studied at Carmel School, Kolkata. She also studied at St. Teresa’s Secondary School and Gokhale Memorial School and completed her School Degree.
She enlisted at a Cultural centre for learning dance from veteran Tanushree Shankar. She debuted herself in the Bengali Film industry with “Hemanter Pakhi”, directed by Urmi Chakraborty.
After that, she started to appear in many films such as “Choker Bali” in 2003 directed by Rituparno Ghosh, “Mastan” in 2004 directed by Rabi Kinnagi, ” Mantra” in 2005 directed by Raviranjan Moitra, “Kranti” in 2006 directed by Riingo Banerjee, ” Partner” in 2008 directed by Shankar Ray and “Hello Kolkata” directed by Manoj Michigan.
” Brake Fail” in 2009 directed by Kaushik Ganguly, “Byomkesh Bakshi” in 2010 directed by Anjan Dutt Bye Bye Bangkok” in 2011, “Bhooter Bhabishyat” in 2012, “Mishawr Rawhoshyo”, “Ami Aar Amar Girlfriends”, “Basanta Utsav”, “Aborto” in 2013, “Take One” and “Jaatishwar” in 2014, “Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!”, “Shesher Kobita”, “Ebar Shabor” in 2015, “Saheb Bibi Golaam” and “Kiriti Roy” in 2016, “Byomkesh O Agnibaan” in 2017, “Aami Ashbo Phirey” in 2018, “Kia and Cosmos”, “Shah Jahan Regency” in 2019, “Tasher Ghawr” and ” Guldasta” in 2020 etc.
She also worked in many Bollywood movies in like as “Mumbai Cutting” in 2008, “Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!” in 2015, ” Dil Bechara” in 2020 etc.
Swastika has appeared in many Web Series such as “Dupur Thakurpo” in 2017, “The Stoneman Murders” 2019, “Black Widows”, “Paatal Lok”, “Paanch Phoron” in 2020, “Mohomaya” in 2021. Though she is a famous face of the Tollywood Industry she had a black life story.
Swastika Mukherjee attempted suicide in May 2014 and was hospitalized. And Kolkata Police confined her boyfriend Sumon Mukhopadhyay under strong local protest. And also she had shoplifted in Singapore on 4th November 2014. But she denied it and claimed that it might have happened accidentally.
She is married to Promit Sen, son of Sagar Sen who is a Rabindra Sangeet Singer. When she was only 18 years, married him in 1998. But she was unhappy with her husband and married life so she accused Promit Sen of abusing her physically and locked her out of their home when she was pregnant.
